So what is custdev and how does it differ from customer surveys?

Henry Ford said that if you ask people what they want, they will say they want a faster horse. Therefore, surveys are just a part of custdev, which is somewhere in the middle of this process.

Customers don’t know what kind of product they want, but they can tell you about their needs, problems, joyful moments, and the experience of a happy customer.
